Project: Peanut Butter Belly Time

Designer: Julio E. Nazario (Ctrl, Dulce, Holi: Festival of Colors)

Artist: Kelly Nichols

Publisher: Nerdy Nuts

Genre/Mechanisms: card game, closed drafting, hand management, set collection

Player Count: 2-7

Solo Mode: no

Summary: “In Peanut Butter Belly Time, players draft ingredient cards to create jars of peanut butter. Each card also has a scoring rule on it, but only one card will score for each jar. Players may take orders from a central display if they can fulfill them, and an order replaces a jar’s normal scoring. Players can also compete for ingredient majority cards. Decide what flavors you want to create from Chocolate Marshmallow to Banana Cookie and everything in between, then prepare your jars and collect the right ingredients for your special peanut butter creations. You can add mystery ingredients for extra flavor, but don’t push your luck too far or your sweet treats might end up too salty instead!”

Project: Where’s My Ride?

Designer: David Kessler

Artists: Tad Lambert (Castle Panic), Sam Waller, Erin Wong (The Red Dragon Inn: Battle for Greyport, The Red Dragon Inn 5: The Character Trove, The Red Dragon Inn 6: Villains)

Publisher: SlugFest Games (The Red Dragon Inn, The Red Dragon Inn 2, The Red Dragon Inn 3)

Genre/Mechanisms: cooperative game, deduction, party game

Player Count: 2-7

Solo Mode: no

Complexity: light

Risk: medium-high

Summary: “A cooperative game of deduction and miscommunication, where you and your friends are divided into a party of riders and a single driver who are trying to meet up for a rideshare. There’s a big problem, though– the app is bugging out big time; it’s not sharing rider or driver locations, and the messaging features have gone haywire. Riders will use a deck of quirky, autofilled text messages to ask the driver where they are parked. Unfortunately, the driver can react to the messages only with emojis. Will you find your driver before the app cancels the ride and gives everyone a dreaded 1-out-of-5 star rating?”
